The Scoil Rince Celtus Dress Fund The Scoil Rince Celtus class dresses are a real eye-catcher on stage and have already contributed to many successes of our solo dancers and teams. These bright orange and black dresses are exclusively made for Scoil Rince Celtus at Celtic Yarns in Scotland. The class dresses are mandatory in the major ceili competitions such as German Open and Europeans and Worlds. In solo competitions a dancer is allowed to exchange the beginner’s costume for the class dress once she has moved up to the primary and intermediate level. The Dress Fund It is not unusual that junior dancers need a new class dress every one to two years because of their growth. This would each time be a major expense for a new dress and a burden of selling the old one. Therefore Stichting Cairdean na Rince Celtus has started a Dress Fund, which manages a pool of dresses which are rented out to individual Scoil Rince Celtus junior dancers. The main benefits for the dancers are:
How it works A dancer up to 18 years of age can apply for a class dress through the Dress Fund if she participates in the SRC ceili team for a major event (German Open, Europeans, Worlds) or dances a minimum of four dances in primary level or higher. An application by e-mail to cnrc.venlo@gmail.com needs to be submitted at least four months before the competition at which the dress will be needed. After this application, the Dress Fund will contact the dancer in order to take measurements. In case of replacement of another dress the Dress Fund will also judge the necessity of replacement. If the dancer complies with the criteria and a fitting dress is available in the pool, this dress will be assigned. If a new dress should need to be ordered, the Dress Fund may decide to use a waiting list in which following priority is used:
The monthly rental fee is then calculated based upon size and age of the assigned dress. New dress orders and dress handovers will only take place after the rental contract is signed. The contract has a minimum duration of one year. The deposit will be returned if the dress is handed back in proper condition after the rental period. All class dresses are delivered with a dress bag Frequently asked questions What about the boys? For the boys there is also a class dress code. They need black trousers, a black long sleeved shirt and an orange school tie. Just ask your class rep for more information. I need a dress urgently for an event taking place within the next four months. What can the Dress Fund do? If you apply for a dress less than four months before the dance event, the Dress Fund cannot guarantee in time delivery. If any additional costs should be required to get the dress in time (e.g. extra transport costs), these costs will be charged to you. I am an adult dancer. Can I also rent a dress through the Dress Fund? No. The Dress Fund focuses on junior dancers since they more frequently need another dress because of growth. Can I order a class dress myself? Yes, you can order a dress at your own expense at Celtic Yarns. In such case however, the Dress Fund will take no liability. The Dress Fund will also have no obligation to take over such dress, even if the dancer should qualify against the Dress Fund criteria. Can the Dress Fund support me if I want to order my own dress at Celtic Yarns? Yes we can. Since we have the experience and the contacts, we can support in taking the measurements, ordering at Celtic Yarns and, if possible, combinee the transport. Please note that incurred costs will be charged to you. Disclosure: Stichting Cairdean na Rince Celtus is allowed to change dress fund rules, criteria and priorities at its owndiscretion.
